Sea Battle

Sea Battle Rules

Detailed rules and gameplay guidance for Sea Battle.

1. Objective

Sink the opposing fleet before all of your own ships are destroyed.

2. Fleet placement

Each player places their fleet secretly on their own grid. Ships occupy consecutive horizontal or vertical squares and cannot overlap.

3. Firing

On your turn, choose one square on the opponent’s hidden grid to attack. The result identifies whether the shot missed or struck a ship.

4. Tracking shots

Use the feedback from previous attacks to narrow down the location and orientation of ships. Your opponent’s fleet remains hidden until hits reveal it.

5. Sinking ships

A ship is sunk when every square it occupies has been hit. Keep track of sunk ships separately from ships that have only been damaged.

6. Winning

The first player to sink the entire opposing fleet wins. A player who leaves or resigns loses the table.
