Word Search Race is a simultaneous contest for 2-4 players. The board contains ten hidden target words, and the first player to claim six of them wins immediately.
Every player searches the same 10x10 letter grid and sees the same target-word list. The table uses one overall timer, selected when the game is created.
All players search and submit claims at the same time. There are no turns, so everyone can compete for any word that has not already been claimed.
Select a target word and choose its letters in one continuous straight line. Words can run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, and can be selected in either direction. The selection must contain every letter in the correct order, with no gaps or bends.
The game validates the selected path against the target word. A valid claim gives the word to the player who submitted it first, displays it in that player’s colour, and adds one point. An invalid selection scores nothing, and a claimed word cannot be claimed again. If players submit the same word at nearly the same time, the first accepted valid claim owns it.
Each of the ten target words is worth one point. There are no bonus points or penalties, so your score is the number of words you have claimed.
The overall table timer gives everyone the same amount of time to search. The available choices are set when the table is created. When the timer expires, the game ends and the player with the highest score wins.
The game ends immediately when a player reaches six claimed words, even if some target words remain. It also ends when all ten words have been claimed. If all words are claimed or the timer expires without a sole highest score, the result is a draw.
